"Gothere! The young turks of the DC yoga scene are bringing $10 classesto... yogis in the city. Two locations on Dupont Circle and T at14th, this is the the place to be. With all the overpriced andoverhyped yoga studios in town, Yoga District has managed to hit thesweet spot. Hip, affordable and with a sense of humor." --Review atyelp.com

Adrienne's bio and class description

Adrienne has been a student of Iyengar Yoga since 2001 with John Schumacher as her primary teacher. In 2005, she had the great opportunity to attend an intensive taught by Mr. B.K.S. Iyengar, the leading living yoga teacher in the world and continues to study with other senior teachers. Her background as an architect and dancer help to bring precision and artistry to her approach to asana (yoga postures). Adrienne is guided by her teachers, direct experience and an unwavering belief in the inherent benefits of yoga. She aims to provide clear and caring instruction that can be utilized by each individual student to expand their own practice, and consequently their awareness, peacefulness and well-being. In life, she is inspired by her loving husband and young daughter, the rhythms of nature, and the idea that all things (living and non-living) are connected. Adrienne has been apprenticing with John Schumacher weekly since 2007 and her teaching is highly influenced by him.

Currently, she teaches Yoga 1-2, Alignment Focus on Monday afternoons in Bloomingdale. In this class Adrienne focuses on standing and other foundational poses with the intent to progress healthily toward inversions, backbends and other more advanced poses. It entails listening, watching and lots of doing, and always ends with relaxation in Savasana.
