Ellie's bio

Ellie Kaufman draws on her years of yoga experience to offer classes focusing on proper alignment, good breathing habits and self-exploration. Ellie was drawn to Hatha yoga in 2002 and enjoyed studying with various teachers here in Washington. She spent the better part of 2004 expanding her understanding and practice of yoga in India. Her studies began at the Vemana Yoga Research Institute in Andra Pradesh and then she went on to focus on the Iyengar tradition at Parmarth Niketan ashram in Rishikesh.

Ellie's level 1-2 Flow Yoga classes feature mellow, quietly challenging sequences of poses linked together with breath, working to build strength and flexibility of body and mind. Her style is relaxed, relaxing, and lighthearted, as she provides students with calmness and space to explore their capabilities with open minds.
