You’ll want to meet Taz, one of our passionate staff members. Taz oversees the Student Accounts Department and is a graduate of our teacher training program. Here Taz shares a little about her personal journey and the role the community has played in her life.
I attended the 200-hour Teacher Training Intensive session in July 2015. Once training was over, I took some time to reflect on how I wanted to design my life. The training gave me the confidence to explore all of the desires of my heart. I decided that I wanted to pursue a remote position and started looking for available opportunities. When I came across the Accounts Manager position at Yoga District, I knew that it would be a perfect fit for me, the timing couldn’t have been better.
One of the major challenges that I’ve experienced from working from home is not establishing a work day “cut off” time. I would generally check emails after business hours and even over the weekend. I have started to become more diligent about creating a work-life balance that works for me. Some of the things that have been helpful for me is choosing a designated work space that makes me feel good (I love to keep fresh cut flowers and candles on my desk, taking dance breaks throughout the day, and pre-planning my work week. Working from home is a balancing act however, the flexibility is worth all the while. Being a part of the Yoga District community has helped transform my outlook on what a traditional life looks like. I am able to learn, travel and work on my schedule (for the most part), which is fine with me. ☺
My favorite thing to do around town is to explore new hiking locations. I love working out outdoors as the calmness of nature brings me so much peace. My favorite thing to do is to travel abroad and explore new cultures, especially the food!
In 10 years, I see myself working from home full-time by blogging and coaching women to live fearlessly in the pursuits of their dreams. I want to motivate women that can truly create the life of their dreams. I will be on a farm in the country, nurturing my garden with my laptop not too far away ☺
